Thank you for all the emails you’ve sent and for putting pressure on the senators! Your involvement has been crucial – it showed that we can stand in solidarity in the face of danger! Unfortunately, despite the opposition from citizens, organizations, experts, and activists, the Senate passed the bill suspending the right to asylum without amendments.
72 voted in favor, 10 voted against. No one abstained, and 17 did not vote.
You can find information about how each senator voted on the Senate’s website: https://www.senat.gov.pl/…/szczegoly-glosowania,572,3…#
Now the bill will be sent to the President’s desk. This is the last moment to stop it! The President can still veto this project.
What can you do?
Send appeals to the President’s Chancellery – express your opposition to the law that violates human rights.
Write to individual senators – thank those who voted against it, express your disappointment to those who voted in favor. The list of addresses is still available on our website.
Share this post and inform others.
Every voice counts! Let’s show that we do not agree with violating human rights.
Let’s say NO to this bill!
