For years, we have been supporting individuals with migration and refugee experience, defending their rights and a dignified place in society.
Our work is based on an individual approach, strong social relationships, and a constant fight for social justice. We believe that no one should be left to face the challenges of forced migration and social exclusion alone. Our actions focus on several key areas.
Case Working and Assistance: individual support for everyone
One of the cornerstones of our work is Case Working, which involves an individual approach to each person in need of help. Migrants and refugees who struggle with legal regulations, language barriers, or institutional obstacles can count on our support – from legal assistance to help during visits to offices, doctors, or police stations. We assist our clients in navigating their new reality and help them access available public services. Every person is important to us, and our goal is to create a safe space where they can regain control over their lives.
POBO Community Spot: a space for integration and support
We created the POBO Community Spot, a place that has become the heart of our community. It is a space for meetings, education, and integration for migrants as well as local residents. We organize workshops, cultural events, language classes, and other activities that bring together people from different cultures. At POBO, everyone can find support – emotional, practical, and a place to relax and build new relationships. For many, it is the first step toward building a new life in Poland, based on mutual respect and acceptance.
Advocacy: fighting for human rights at every level
We are not afraid to speak out when human rights are violated. We engage in advocacy at the local, national, and international levels. We are the voice of those who are often unheard in public debates. We collaborate with public institutions, politicians, the media, and non-governmental organizations to ensure that regulations align with human rights and meet the needs of individuals with migration experience. We intervene in cases of human rights violations, monitor situations related to migration, and help create better living conditions in a diverse society.
Social Patronage: the power of community in integration
One of our unique initiatives is Social Patronage – a support model that involves local civic groups in the integration process of refugees. These groups assist with language learning, provide emotional, material, and logistical support, and facilitate access to public services such as education and healthcare. This approach strengthens social bonds and demonstrates that together we can build stronger, more integrated communities where every individual has the opportunity for a dignified life.
Projects: concrete initiatives, real help
Our activities include numerous projects that we implement with the support of international and national organizations such as UNHCR, Choose Love, and the Feminist Fund. Each project focuses on key aspects of supporting migrants and refugees: legal aid, psychological support, social integration, and combating violence motivated by prejudice. Through these initiatives, we have a real impact on the lives of thousands of people, helping them find safety and stability.
