Life is Migration

On Saturday afternoon, a demonstration under the slogan “Life is Migration” took place in Wrocław, organized by local groups Food Not Bombs, Solidarnościówka, and Autonomous BookFair. Participants gathered to express their opposition to the inhumane migration policy and the suspension of the right to asylum.

During the event, speakers highlighted the dire situation of refugees at the Polish-Belarusian border, where migrants face pushbacks, violence, and dehumanization by state authorities. Among the stories shared was the account of Farida from Afghanistan, who suffered severe injuries and harm during an attempt to cross the border.

Protesters drew attention to the worsening conditions at the border, where people seeking refuge endure hunger, cold, and violence. New regulations exacerbate the situation, violating human rights and Poland’s international commitments.

Chants of “Shame!” and “Solidarity with Refugees!” echoed throughout the demonstration, as participants called for an end to the militarization of the border, adherence to asylum rights, and respect for the dignity of every person. The event concluded with a call to stand against racism, show solidarity, and take further action for justice and human rights.
