Nomada Association’s Collaboration with Public Institutions

Pomieszczenie z krzesłami

For over 15 years, Nomada Association has been supporting individuals with migration experience and other groups vulnerable to exclusion. A key element of our work is collaboration with public institutions at the local, national, and international levels, enabling us to more effectively respond to the needs of our clients and implement lasting systemic solutions.

Local and National Cooperation

From the start, we have closely worked with local government units and educational institutions in Lower Silesia. In partnership with the University of Wrocław and educational institutions under the Wrocław Municipality, we implement projects aimed at supporting anti-discrimination education and integrating migrant children into the Polish educational system. We are also in regular contact with the District Employment Office and the Municipal Social Welfare Center, where we train staff in supporting migrants and countering bias-motivated violence.

more information

For years, we have been advocating for marginalized communities, collaborating with institutions like the Ombudsman’s Office, the Equal Treatment Officer in Wrocław, and the Regional Chamber of Legal Advisers. Our mission is to defend human rights, combat discrimination and exclusion, and ensure access to legal aid, particularly for those in detention and those facing homelessness and violence.

International Cooperation

Our work also extends internationally. We cooperate with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as part of the Regional Plan to support refugees from Ukraine. In response to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, we have been actively involved in helping those fleeing the war.

Our experts are invited to consult on legislative projects and legal reforms at the governmental and parliamentary levels, particularly in areas of migration law, counteracting bias-motivated violence, and protecting the rights of migrants.

Training and Expert Support

Nomada offers a wide range of training and workshops for various professional groups, including civil servants, social workers, and education sector employees. We also provide specialized anti-discrimination and gender-based violence prevention training.

From January to September 2024, 740 people participated in the workshops we conducted.

All our activities aim to create spaces where the voices of migrants are heard and their rights are respected. Our team of experts is ready to support various institutions, offering tailored expert services in migration law, social support, and anti-discrimination efforts.

If you represent a public or private institution and need support in human rights protection, anti-discrimination education, or assistance for migrants, we encourage you to reach out.

Together, we can build a more inclusive society.
