Christmas Fundraiser: Help Rebuild Alaa and Her Family’s Life After the Gaza Tragedy

Alaa, a Palestinian mother of two, fled the horrors of war in Gaza seven months ago, seeking refuge in Poland. After their home was bombed, the family endured unimaginable hardship, living for five months in a tent without access to water or food. Thanks to the support of many compassionate individuals, they’ve been given a chance to start anew in Wrocław.

What Has Been Achieved Since Arriving in Poland

  • Safe Housing: The family now has keys to an apartment, their first true home since the war began.
  • Medical and Psychological Support: The children are receiving specialized healthcare, including cardiology and psychiatric consultations, aiding in their recovery.
  • Social Integration: Alaa is actively learning Polish and participating in community events, sharing her culture through activities like traditional Palestinian food tastings on the Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
  • Psychological Therapy: Regular sessions with a psychologist are helping the children adapt to their new environment and heal from trauma.

Why Your Help is Needed

The family still faces significant financial challenges. Alaa is awaiting a decision on international protection, which prevents her from working. This makes it difficult to cover rent, utilities, and buy winter clothing for their first Polish winter.

The Scale of the Gaza Tragedy

According to Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, Israeli actions in Gaza post-October 2023 meet the definition of genocide. These include destroying infrastructure, mass displacements, and the deaths of thousands. Reports highlight systematic targeting of civilians, cutting off access to water, and basic necessities.
