/ SUKURS – TO SUPPORT PEOPLE EXPOSED TO HATE VIOLENCE
In mid-June 2010 Nomada Association started a project aiming to assist people who have encountered different types of violence and discrimination because of their origins, appearance, religion, social status, political views, etc. Such people, in legal and human English terminology, are called Hate Crimes Victims. In various countries, this concept is being explained in different ways: the violence of hatred, violence motivated by hatred, right-wing violence, violence motivated by prejudice, hate crimes, etc. No matter what you call it, one thing is certain: violence and discrimination exist in Poland and therefore Nomada Association implements a project referring to this topic. This problem is not only conceptually, but also institutionally neglected.

/ WELCOME TO: CREATING A CITY FRIENDLY FOR FOREIGNERS.
1 of September NOMADA began implementation of a watch-dog project “WELCOME TO: Creating a city friendly to foreigners. “
It’s aim is to facilitate every day life of foreigners living in Wrocław. According to our research there are 5 institutions foreigners living in Wroclaw the most often come into contact with. These are: Department of Civil and Lower Silesia Regional Office for Foreigners, Border Guards, the police, railway station and coach station.
Within the project we want to check to what extent they are prepared for contact with foreigners. The results of the research will be published in a report and recommendations to the 5 institutions will be provided. The final stage of the project will be advocacy – together with the 5 institutions we will try to find solutions that will allow the best possible adaptation of them to contact with foreigners.
The project is funded by the Stefan Batory Foundation.
