{"id":22210,"date":"2025-05-14T15:28:33","date_gmt":"2025-05-14T13:28:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nomada.info.pl\/kolejna-rozprawa-w-sprawie-h5"},"modified":"2025-05-16T21:41:07","modified_gmt":"2025-05-16T19:41:07","slug":"another-hearing-in-the-h5-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nomada.info.pl\/en\/another-hearing-in-the-h5-case","title":{"rendered":"Another hearing in the #h5 case"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today at 10:00 AM at the District Court in Bia\u0142ystok, the third hearing will take place in the trial against individuals providing humanitarian aid on the Polish-Belarusian border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The website of the District Prosecutor\u2019s Office in Bia\u0142ystok has published a document containing evidentiary motions allegedly incriminating the accused \u2013 individuals involved in saving the lives and health of migrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We encourage you to read the post by lawyer Kamil Syller, who has been engaged in humanitarian aid at the border for years. Point by point, he exposes the weaknesses of the indictment and shows how humanity itself is being put on trial. You can find the link in the comment under this post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Follow today\u2019s updates and commentary from Szpila as well: <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/szpila.blackblogs.org\">szpila.blackblogs.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This case is not only about the fate of \u201cthe five.\u201d It\u2019s a test \u2013 whether humanitarian aid in Poland will be treated as a crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the organizations that have joined the case are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Association for Legal Intervention, the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, the Free Courts Foundation, and the National Bar Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nomada Association has also expressed solidarity with the accused by submitting an amicus curiae brief. In it, we point out that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cA possible conviction of the accused may be a sign of repression and a tool to deter others from providing life-saving aid to people who have crossed the border.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also warn against the dangerous interpretation that considers&#8230; offering water or shelter from hypothermia as a form of personal gain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We stand with #h5 \u2013 in court and beyond.<br><strong>Against punishing
